Please Welcome our U12 Head Coach 2025-2026
Dear Parents and Players,

My name is Bob Hewitt, and I’m honored and excited to serve as Head Coach of the Mississippi Thunder Kings U12 team for the 2025–2026 season.

Since beginning my coaching journey in 2018, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside experienced and talented coaches in various roles—including head coach, assistant coach, and trainer. I’ve coached players of all ages and skill levels across both spring and winter seasons. Throughout, my coaching philosophy has remained consistent: to create a positive, challenging, and fun environment where athletes can grow, build confidence, and develop a strong foundation for long-term success in hockey.
I believe that success isn’t just measured by wins or trophies, but by how we compete, support one another, and show respect—both on and off the ice. Our focus will be on team-first hockey built on accountability, effort, and sportsmanship.
Player development and leadership will be at the heart of our season. Every athlete selected to this team will be expected to bring energy, grit, and a commitment to putting the team above themselves. Our practices will be structured to improve conditioning, skill development, and team systems in a progressive and engaging way.
Families can expect an average of 3 to 5 hockey-related activities each week, including practices, games, tournaments, and off-ice training.
Tentative Tournament Schedule – 2025–2026 Season:
  1. Belleville Mid-Season Tilt – October 31 to November 2, 2025
  2.  53rd Annual Shootout Classic (Buffalo, NY) - Nov 21 to 23, 2025
  3. Bell Capital Cup – December 27 to December 31, 2025
  4. Cornwall Colts Tournament – January 30 to February 1, 2026
I’m truly looking forward to an exciting, challenging, and rewarding season. Thank you for your continued support of the Mississippi Thunder Kings program. I can’t wait to hit the ice and watch our players grow as both athletes and individuals.
See you at the rink and I’m excited to be part of the kids hockey journey!
Sincerely,
Bob Hewitt
