A letter from your coach!
Welcome to the 2024/2025 U16 Mississippi Thunderkings!
My name is Scott Robillard and I am truly excited for the opportunity to be the head coach for your U16 MTK team for the 2024/2025 season. I am really looking forward to working with this group of players, helping each player develop and reach their individual and team goals. I encourage all APMHA and CPMHA players to join conditioning and tryout sessions
My coaching philosophy is very simple. Hockey is a game and games should be fun. No matter what level you are playing , the game should be enjoyable. It is important to me that every player on the team feels valued and enjoys their time at the rink. My focus this season will be to ensure that all players are given every opportunity to build on and develop all their skills in a positive environment. Players will be expected to compete to the best of their ability each and every time we hit the ice whether it is a game or a practice. Practice will be structured and high pace with the emphasis on individual and team tactics
Although I am new to the MTK coaching world, I have been highly involved at the house level coaching at least one team in APMHA every year since 2017. I believe in open, honest communication, hard work and a team first attitude. Players can expect to be held to a very high standard when it comes to work ethic, sportsmanship and teamwork both on and off the ice. Commitment and communication are critical. The coaching staff will do their absolute best to ensure that everyone is on the same page; players, coaches and parents
